Donlon Books, London: Gary Schneider in conversation with John Douglas Millar
Next Thursday, 20th November, 7.30 pm, Donlon Books welcomes artist and master printer Gary Schneider, whose close collaboration with photographer and friend Peter Hujar played a crucial role in shaping the way Hujar’s work is seen today. Schneider’s sensitive and meticulous printing approach helped preserve the depth and emotional intensity that define Hujar’s portraits and landscapes. His contribution has ensured that Peter Hujar’s photographs continue to resonate, allowing new audiences to encounter the work in forms that remain faithful to the artist’s intent.
Gary will be joined in conversation by writer, friend, and forthcoming Peter Hujar biographer John Douglas Millar. Together Gary and John curated the exhibition Peter Hujar: Eyes Open in the Dark, Raven Row, 2025
The exhibition will open at the Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn, Germany, on February 27, 2026.
